Here's a list of games that I found that have some
interesting ideas in them. They are not all good games, just interesting.
Papers, please
It's about a guy who stamps passports at a border crossing.
It has really encaging game play and good moral choice moments.
Etrian Odyssey
It has an interesting mechanic where you draw your own map
as you explore.
Rogue Legacy
Each time a character dies, they are respawned as a descendant
of the previous character.
Thomas Was Alone
Aesthetically it is
really minimalistic but it's really good at integrating its game play mechanics
with its story.
Sound Shapes
The use of music in this game is awesome!!!
Journey
The story is mostly told through the environments.
Oddworld
The oddworld games have really good aesthetic.
